BugZip Luggage Encasements: New Product Helps Prevent Spread of Bed Bugs
We’re really not about advertising products here at Chicago vs. Bed Bugs, but when we meet exceptional, innovative people who genuinely share our goals– to help people who are experiencing bed bug infestations and to prevent people from experiencing bed bug infestations– well, we can’t resist giving them a little public attention here on our website.
And this is why we agreed to meet with Adam Greenberg, owner of Vantzen Products and creator of BugZip Luggage Encasements– a new line of products designed specifically to help prevent people from contracting and spreading bed bugs. Adam’s line of work puts him in direct contact with people who have bed bugs on a daily basis. Here’s what inspired Adam’s genius idea and why he became determined to make it work:
Speaking with hundreds of people who were battling bed bugs in their home, I was deeply moved by the frustration, exhaustion and fear they spoke of. My grandmother told me horror stories of living with bed bugs as a little girl in New York many years ago. You can not speak to someone who has experienced bed bugs without realizing that it is a life changing event.
Seeing them first hand under my bed while on a brand new cruise ship really made it hit home how quickly they spread and how easily they can be just about anywhere. Bed bug experts all say the #1 thing you can do is to not get them in the first place. But there were no real solutions to prevent an infestation. Since bed bugs are usually brought home unknowingly in luggage, I began to think of ways to keep them out of the suitcases, and BugZip was born.
If everyone used BugZip while traveling, then bed bugs would not spread from place to place and the pest control experts would be able to make real progress towards eradicating them. I’m hopeful that someday my grandkids will not believe me when I tell them bed bugs stories and that bed bugs will go back to just being a bed time fable.
